Most people who have never been through a divorce don’t realize that when you go through a divorce, and there are children involved, your relationship with your ex-wife doesn’t end, it just changes. And I believe that’s exactly what’s happening with Tiger. There are a myriad of problems and issues that must be dealt with regarding the children and some of these issues may be wearing heavily on him. (As I’ve always said, what takes place off the golf course affects what takes place on the golf course.) I do believe that eventually, and probably in the not-too-distant future, we’ll be seeing a new, improved version of the Tiger Woods of the past. He could very well become the first professional golfer to shoot 18 birdies on 18 holes in a tournament. Ben Hogan thought it could be done, but the best he ever shot was twelve. I believe shooting 18 birdies on 18 holes is strictly a mental barrier, similar to Roger Bannister breaking the four-minute mile. We’ll all know when Tiger has finally straightened out his life and has a good working relationship with his ex-wife and children. All you’ll have to do is view the leader board.
