…is a Performance Enhancement Trainer/Consultant who works with both individuals and teams. He specializes in the building of self-esteem and helping athletes overcome self-limiting beliefs. When working with teams, he helps them transform themselves into combination Focus Groups/Support Groups, providing them with a safe, controlled environment where they can honestly share their personal issues and problems with each other. Marv also teaches “guided-imagery” visualization to music. Over the years, he has found that when athletes withhold (repress) their feelings it’s a form of lying that demeans them and lowers their self-esteem, creating psychological baggage that affects their ability to focus and process information, resulting in an inability to visualize. But when they release their bottled-up emotions it results in their developing a strong sense of inner-self (self-esteem) – and only then do they become effective “visualizers” and begin to perform close to their skill levels on a consistent basis. Marv has worked with professional, college-level and high school athletes as well as at-risk youth, cancer patients and corporate executives. His program, Psycho Self-Imagery, is founded on the premise that we create what happens to us, both positive and negative, based on our own feelings of self-worth and whether or not our lives are in harmony. Marv is married and has three grown children.
